ll Toscano means “The Tuscan”, a name that reflects everything I am and all that I love about my home land in Italy. My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the Tuscan countryside, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 12 years my passion for my culture has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and consistency. And so il Toscano was born! Originally as a food delivery service during COVID-19, we then found a home in Terrigal, then another in Long Jetty and most recently in Gosford! So I’ve combined this with my strong passion and commitment to my culture, to bring you something truly special and unique. Our mission is to bring people together with good food and good times.

We’re committed to bringing you the most authentic Italian dining experience outside of Italy. That’s not difficult for Matteo, who is as Italian as it gets!
All our locations are modelled on traditional Tuscan trattorias, and our recipes are straight out of Italy or created by Matteo. You definitely won’t find a Carbonara with cream on our menu!
