Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy.
My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 6 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger.
Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and value for money.
My wife Laura and I became so tired of being disappointed every time we ordered food out, that we decided to take matters into our own hands.
And so il Toscano was born! Originally as a food delivery service during COVID-19, we’ve now found a home in Terrigal, so it’s even more convenient for you to feed yourself and your family with quality hand-made meals in minutes.
I have over 20 years’ experience in hospitality, both in Italy and Australia. Plus, I’ve had the pleasure of accommodating hundreds of Australian guests on my boutique Italian tours with my travel company Tuscany Untouched.
So I’ve combined this with my strong passion and commitment to my culture, to bring you something truly special and unique.
Our mission is to bring people together with good food and good times.
